Just a bit of history: The Victoria Rugby Football Club came back to life in the fall of 1993 at the urging of soon-to-be-captain, Mike Schroeder. The "Kronks" were named for the legendary warrior tribe of the Karankawa Indians who roamed the Gulf Coast hundreds of years ago, and picked up where the "Wailers" had left off in their previous life in the early 1980's. After a few friendly scrimmages in Corpus Christi and Houston, The Kronks suited up for the Galveston Mardi Gras Tournament in 1994 "for real" and have not looked back. In the eleven seasons that have followed, the Kronks have advanced to the Texas Rugby Union playoffs six times, have hosted the South Texas Tourney twice, have hosted one English touring side, and have competed in numerous tourneys on the road.
Victoria RFC is unique in its access to two home playing fields...one in Victoria at the Crain Intermediate School and one in McFaddin at the polo fields. In addition, practices are held weekly during the respective seasons at the Stroman Memorial Campus. |

| Our
home "pub" for our first three seasons was Bud's Deli, complete with rugby
decor and a wide variety of refreshments. During its "relocation" and
the 1997-01 seasons, the Kronks roamed to several watering holes. We
settled in at The Ice House until it closed in December, 2005. We are
now at home at Shooters, 4102 N. Navarro. Our "business" cards, first prepared for that trip to Galveston in 1994, still say it right:
